memeSter is an app for swiping through memes, collecting the ones you like, and sending them to friends. By creating an account or using memeSter you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Zero tolerance. memeSter has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that breaks the rules below is removed, and accounts that break them are banned, usually within 24 hours of a report.

1. Who can use memeSter

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. One person, one account. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

2. Community rules

Memes are supposed to be funny, not harmful. Don't post, comment, or send:

nudity or sexual content, or anything sexual involving minors (reported to the authorities)
hate speech or attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits
harassment, bullying, threats, or content that targets a private person
graphic violence, gore, self-harm promotion, or terrorism
other people's private information
spam, scams, or impersonation
anything illegal, or content you don't have the right to share

3. Reporting and blocking

Every meme, comment and profile has a Report option, and you can block anyone. Reported content disappears for the person who reported it right away. Content reported by several people is hidden for everyone until we review it. We review reports and act on them, usually within 24 hours.

4. Your content

You keep the rights to what you post. By posting it, you let memeSter store it, show it to the people you chose (everyone, your followers, or specific friends), and show it inside the app. You confirm you have the right to share it. You can delete your posts and your whole account at any time in the app.

5. Memes from other places

Some memes come from public posts on Lemmy and Bluesky. They belong to their creators, and memeSter always shows who made them and where, with a link to the original. Under memes from Lemmy, memeSter also shows some of the public comments people left there, read-only and labelled with their author's name and "Lemmy". Like everything else, they can be reported. Creators and commenters who want something removed can contact us.

Copyright. If you believe something on memeSter uses your work without permission, email [email protected] with a link to it (or a screenshot), what your work is, and how we can reach you. We take it down, usually within 48 hours, and let the person who posted it know. Accounts that keep posting other people's work without the right to do so are banned.

6. Ending your account

You can delete your account in Settings; everything is removed. We may suspend or ban accounts that break these terms, without notice when the violation is serious.

7. The fine print

memeSter is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it running and safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we're not responsible for content made by users or other platforms. We may update these terms; when we do, the app asks you to accept the new version.
